Kentmorr EcoDredge Deepens Kentmorr Marina Channel

To promote environmental quality of the local habitat and its business, Kentmorr Marina has removed accumulated sand and silt at the entrance to its channel by calling on its sister company, Kentmorr EcoDredge, to provide innovative solutions.

In the second phase of the project in Spring 2009, Kentmorr EcoDredge will extract silt from the rear part of the channel and the marina basin, which is about five miles south of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. The company is in discussions with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and other industry professionals about innovative ways to reuse that silt, such as wetlands restoration.
